Position Summary

In 2024, ISC2 recognized India as a priority jurisdiction and began execution of a long term strategy. At a high level, our goal is to support the growth of the cybersecurity ecosystem on the sub-continent. We aim to increase ISC2’s recognition as a credible and critical player in growing a well-qualified cybersecurity workforce and increase our footprint, namely with increased membership.
 
Based in India, this role will lead the execution of ISC2’s India strategy working with both internal and external stakeholders, the APAC Managing Director, India task force and functional leads as well as external stakeholders. You will have responsibility for $2.5 million in revenue and will be expected to support the growth of that revenue over the course of time. This role requires strong business acumen and you will have a proven track record of building relationships across multiple channels, including partners, customers, members, policymakers and other key stakeholders. This role operates in a global, matrixed environment and flexibility in working with support teams across the region will be key to success.
 
Candidates will ideally reside in, or near to, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad or Mumbai and must have a strong understanding of administration in these areas, as these will be initial market focus. Residence in Tier 2 cities will also be considered.

Responsibilities

Business Development:

  • Lead the execution of a comprehensive sales strategy (Channel sales, B2C, B2B) in India in collaboration with the sales team with a focus on growth. Approximately 70% of time will be focused on new business, and 30% of time dedicated to maintaining current business
  • Partner with the marketing and communications teams to ensure appropriate localization of messaging and marketing channels
  • Partner with sales support, product delivery and account management professionals across the globe
  • Lead local recognition efforts, including identifying and engaging with organisations that can influence the adoption of our credentials
  • Monitor and provide quarterly performance reports
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Stakeholder engagement:

  • Serve as the “face” of ISC2 in India
  • Attend key conferences and thought leader events that will raise the profile of the organisation and establish ISC2 as a trusted leader and critical member of the Indian cybersecurity ecosystem
  • Partner with the Advocacy team to support government relations and public affairs programs
  • Support member engagement by developing relationships with members, chapters and the ISC2 Indian Task Force
  • Identify and build relationships with stakeholders from academia, government and industry to promote ISC2 mission and vision for a safe and secure cyber world

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of leadership, influence and strong internpersonal skills
  • A good understanding of the India political system, environment and institutions, as
    well as cultural landscape

  • Experience with government/policy schemes is preferred
  • Network of key stakeholders a plus
  • Experience working with member associations or nonprofits a plus
  • Keen interest in cybersecurity, cybersecurity policy and creating value for membership associations

Physical and Mental Demands

  • Work remotely from home full time
  • Able to travel up to 40% in India (occasional travel beyond India to meet with team
    members may be required)

  • Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting, for prolonged periods
  • Regular use of office equipment in a remote environment such as a computer/laptop and monitor computer screens
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components
  • Ability to manage and work across multiple time zones

 

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or a related field required
  • At least 10 year’s business development/ sales experience of which a minimum of 3
    years’ experience managing key accounts independently engaging with C Level and/
    or government stakeholders in India

  • Experience in the training and education sector or capacity building initiatives is a
    plus
